Sorry, the old Perci can’t come to the phone right now.
There’s nothing like experiencing the most humiliating break-up in history for a serious wake-up call. After getting dumped over the radio, with millions of listeners tuning in, my life is in serious need of a do-over.
Trying to please everyone else isn’t working, so it’s time to focus on me. Cue my anti New Year’s resolutions that even I can’t fail at:
Stop dating. (Men are the worst.)
Stop trying to lose weight. (I’m never giving up chocolate!)
Stop working so hard. (Selling mortgages is not my dream career.)
Stop trying to live up to unrealistic expectations. (Start living my best life!)
But not everyone is on board with the new Perci—my overbearing mother is still dreaming about me walking down the aisle with my awful ex. To keep her far away from my love life I made up an imaginary boyfriend, but in a moment of panic I accidentally blurted out my not-so-imaginary neighbor’s name instead!
Nate, the bad boy next door with gorgeous hazel eyes, a razor-sharp jawline and mysterious scar, might be hot, but he’s definitely not my boyfriend. Now all I need to do is stick to my resolutions while also keeping my interfering family away from my non-existent lover who has no idea that we’re fake dating. What could possibly go wrong?

Could the man I hate be the perfect match I need?
I’m Jules Kelly, a certified bohemian boss babe, whose hip tech company just won subsidized office space in the coolest co-working space in town. From a distance I seem poised to take over the world (or at least the travel industry), and I would be if it weren’t for two big complications:
1. A rare and seriously inconvenient disease is tanking my health by the day, and my only hope for a cure—a transplant—is moving further from my grasp.

The thing is, as much as Tom’s antagonism annoys me, he has an uncanny ability to conjure up my fighting spirit and vitality at a time when my illness is robbing me of both. I’m drawn to him in ways I can’t (or would really rather not) understand.
A mysterious angel investor forces our companies to compete for a life-changing amount of money just when my relationship with Tom becomes infinitely more complicated. To make matters worse, things get cutthroat just as my time starts to run out.
In order to survive, I must decide if I can truly trust my most unlikely ally of all.

Een tijdje geleden schreef Stef een blog over 7 Nederlandse luisterboeken die te vinden zijn op Spotify. Hier kan je met een betaald account naar luisteren en ze op volgorde laten afspelen, maar gelukkig ook met een gratis account, alleen heb je dan kans dat de hoofdstukken niet op volgorde kunnen worden afgespeeld.
Met het naderen van de vakantie en de waarschijnlijk lange autoritten of vliegreizen, is het alleen maar aannemelijk om naar een luisterboek te luisteren. Je kunt ze zelfs luisteren terwijl je bijvoorbeeld aan het inpakken bent voor je vakantie of aan het opruimen.
